On the subject of signs...

...I'm driving through downtown Wichita Falls, northbound on Broad street and I see a billboard that reads "Visit Corpus Christi" or something to that effect. Now, mind you If I continue driving northbound I'm eventually going to wind up in Oklahoma. I feel this billboard would be much more effective while being viewed by folks driving southbound (toward south Texas). I may have been interested in seeing Corpus, but the mere fact that I have to turn around and go the other way is a deal breaker!

Signs of the End of the World

The fact the Taco Bell is taking the time to print cute little sayings on their packets of hot sauce(not unlike Valentine's Day candy) has to be a sign of the end of the world.

Young humor in bloom...

So, I'm bringing my daughter home from school earlier this week. She say's "Dad, what do you get when you dont shave your legs everyday?" I suggested I don't shave my legs, but I didn't want to spoil her moment. She replied "You get a knee mustache!". I was laughingly impressed with her sense of humor at 7 years of age. Good stuff!

Brown Skies

If you've lived in Texas for a summer or two, you know about our brown skies. They're not something we brag about. They're not something that makes us smile. They mean the weather hasn't quite been going the way we hoped it would. When your car or truck has a dusty film on it, chances are you haven't washed it in the last week or so. So, when our Texas Skies are hazy and brown...that means..well, they haven't been washed in a while...or, it hasn't rained. Now take our dry countryside and add south or southwest winds at 20-30 miles per hour? Ta-Daa! Brown skies. In fact, there have been a few evenings already this year when our western skies were so dusty, the sun became obscured to the point it looked like a full moon just above the horizon. we'll have a chance to wash the sky Friday, but if it doesn't rain...its may a while before rain chances return. We dont need this in May
